Abstrak

Kondisi mangrove di kawasan restorasi Taman Nasional Sembilang (TNS) Sumatera Selatan mengalami tekanan dan kerusakan dari tahun ke tahun. Penyebab utama rusaknya mangrove di TNS adalah budidaya atau pembuatan kolam ikan khususnya di Semenanjung Banyuasin Sumatera Selatan. Aktivitas tambak-tambak tersebut telah mengakibatkan degradasi mangrove, terutama di jalur hijau. Rusaknya kawasan mangrove menyebabkan penurunan kualitas dan luasan kawasan mangrove yang mengakibatkan kerusakan berbagai fungsi penting. Kerusakan mangrove terjadi baik di tingkat regional, nasional bahkan hingga tingkat global. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui proses revegetasi alami mangrove pada bekas tambak. Komposisi jenis vegetasi yang tumbuh di areal bekas tambak di kawasan restorasi TNS Sumatera Selatan terdiri dari empat jenis yaitu Avicennia marina (Forssk.) Vierh., Avicennia alba Blume, Rhizophora mucronata Lam., dan Portulaca villosa. Jenis revegetasi mangrove bekas tambak yang paling dominan di TNS adalah A. marina.
